President & CEO
Having entered the industry some twenty years ago, Sam has become quite the game changer in the spirits world. Today, he is President of JVS Wines and ImpEx Beverages in addition to GRC. Out of humble beginnings, he’s emerged as a self-taught, natural entrepreneur whose deep understanding of import and distributorship encompasses both the craft and the business behind spirits. Known for valuing one-on-one relationships (with suppliers, customers and colleagues), sticking to his word, and holding himself, his staff, and his products to the highest of standards, his track record includes nurturing all three companies from an idea to a healthy set of industry players that together, represent virtually every alcohol category.

Chris’s start in the industry was as a bartender in a small town in the state of Georgia. He moved to Los Angeles in 2007 where he joined Sam at JVS Wines and assisted in building their American spirits portfolio. He is the co-founder of the Southern California Whiskey Club, the whisky master for the United Scottish Society of Southern California, and he volunteers as the whisky curator for the Daily Pint in Santa Monica, CA. In 2016, Los Angeles Magazine named Chris “the First Name in LA Whisky”.
